Tube-Dispensed Hand Cream

This recipe is taken from Cosmetic and Toiletry Formulas, Volume 8, the classic compendium of Ernest Flick. This cream leaves a silky texture on the skin, thanks to dimethicone and isopropyl myristate, while propylene glycol absorbs more moisture. Dimethicone is an anti-whitening agent that protects the skin against the harmful rays of the sun.

In a separate beaker, mix all phase A ingredients. Then, bring to heat until it reaches 70°C. Combine mixtures
of phases A and B, and beat with a mixer for 10 minutes while maintaining temperature to 70°C. Cool mixture to 40°C before adding ingredients of phase C. Blend well before putting into tubes.
